SLC Women’s Volleyball This Weekend!

This weekend, the 21st and 22nd of September, Sarah Lawrence will be hosting the Women’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament. It is a six team, two day tournament with a total of five matches being played each day. Noyes Court at the Campbell Sports Center will be split into two courts and matches will be played simultaneously. The participating teams other than your Sarah Lawrence Gryphons are King’s College, Maritime College, New Jersey City University and Manhattanville College.

So far, the Gryphons have 1 win and six losses. They opened with a win against Medgar Evans but haven’t been able to produce the goods since. They will be looking to get their season back on track this weekend. So far this season, Kitty O’Sullivan, a junior from Los Angeles, California is leading the team in kills and points. She is one of the only three players who have been on the team before and is the driving force of the team. Right behind her is sophomore, Jomana Abdallah who is also from Los Angeles, California. The only other player to have been on the team before is senior, Jenai Richards from Kailua, Hawai’i. The Gryphons are coached by Jillian Kalvik.

The Gryphons will be looking for all your support this weekend as they look to get their season going. The first match will start on Saturday, September 21st at 11 AM with Sarah Lawrence taking on King’s College. We will be back on Monday to provide you with full details of what transpired over the weekend at Noyes Court.
