SLC Art Fair, Prez Gore, and more to do this week – 9/30/14

Here are some events that should be at the top of your to-do list.


Figure Drawing Club

If you have zero experience with figure drawing, what better way to practice than with live models? The Figure Drawing Club is having it’s first drawing session in the A*Space this Tuesday. Materials will be provided

Downstage Drops The Ball

Downstage, one of SLC’s student led theatre companies, is hosting a ten-minute play festival this weekend. Student playwrights were given a New Year’s resolution and three days to write a play based on their given suggestion. Teams were selected at random, so it should be interesting to see what they have produced in less than two weeks.

Open Mic

SLAC’s Open Mic series continues with a new theme: Disney. Free Cupcakes are slated to appear, so get there on time. If the attendance is the same as the last one, be sure to dress accordingly, it’s a hot one.

Thursday October 2nd Black Squirrel, 9pm

SLC Art Fair

The Collective Arts Thinking Space (C.A.T.S.) and NKDfruits, a new architecture collective led by Tuyen Nguyen and Julia Beros, bring you a one-day festival showcasing student artwork at several venues on campus. Commencing with an architectural installation by NKDfruits and sound design by recent alumni Domonick Boyle near the pub, followed by an art exhibition curated by C.A.T.S. entitled “Gross” featuring new student works as well as archival photography from SLC students from the 1930’s through 1960’s. The night concludes with an concert in the Blue Room with sets from The So So Glos, Heeney, and Nicholas.

Camp Poon with SLC Lampoon

Sarah Lawrence’s premier source for sketch comedy is having another show after a successful 24-hour sketch show this past weekend. They packed the film viewing room their last show, so be sure to arrive early!

Prez Gore

Prez Gore Hardcore! Anyone who has been at any of Prez Gore’s Rossmore shows last year will tell you that the pit is real. If you’re into experiencing some gruesome tunes come to the Blue Room. Additional bands on the lineup include: Food Group and Habibi

Saturday, October 4th The Blue Room, 10pm


Kurt is in his junior year. He concentrates on creating content in any facet of media he can get his dirty paws on. Beware his body roll in the blue room as it is known to negate all damage during your turn. Kurt operates as the On Campus editor for SLCSpeaks.
