Support immigration reform and undocumented students around the country secure a pathway to citizenship today, Friday April 5, by signing the DREAM Act petition at Sarah Lawrence for Immigration Advocacy’s table outside the Pub from 9 a.m.- 6:30 pm.

From SLC Immigration Advocacy co-founder Wendolyn Sabrozo:

“Sarah Lawrence for Immigration Advocacy” was formed earlier this semester, and we are proud to say that it is the first immigration-based group on campus! Our goal is to organize and advocate for the immigrant community as the opportunity for immigration reform grows near. Our weekly meetings are held in the Titsworth Living Room on Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm. Here, we inform and discuss immigration related issues with our members. We also advocate through political action, by attending and organizing events that aim for the passage of an immigration reform at both federal and state levels. All in all, we hope to create a community of passionate organizers and activists. More than anything, we want to provide a safe space for members of the SLC community to share their personal stories.
One of the upcoming events we want everyone to know about will be taking place on Friday April 5th! We will be holding a demonstration outside of the Pub from 9 am to 6:30 pm. We hope to let the SLC community become more familiar with who we are and our goals. Throughout the day, different members of our group will be available to answer questions and socialize! Please, everyone feel free to come up and ask any questions! There will be petitions for all to sign, stickers, and other goodies.

Stop by the pub or visit The Dream Is Now to hear DREAM-ers stories and sign the petition.
