Whenever I’m at a bookstore without a specific title, author, or subject in mind, I browse aimlessly. I scan shelves and shelves of bland book spines when all of a sudden my eye catches an interesting color or an unusual font. I pull out the book and evaluate the jacket design. A myriad of elements lead me to open the book and check out the plot summary: a subtle layout, a striking image, an unexpected title. If you’re anything like me, the website An Archive of Book Cover Designs and Designers is made for you. This site features an endless archive of new and old book covers, featuring hundreds of talented designers. Check it out for design inspiration and new titles to add to your must-read list this summer!
